FAQ

Essence Wheel, save and Memory Codex questions for Demons Within Public 14.6.

How do I choose not to intervene?

At an optional Essence Wheel, don’t select an Essence—just advance the text. There is no separate “Pass” button.

Why won’t some Wheels let me continue without choosing?

When a locked Wheel calls for input, choose the available Essence to continue. A few locked stages run automatically; just wait for those to finish. At an optional Wheel, you can leave every Essence unselected and advance the text instead.

Where should I save to replay other outcomes?

Keep a manual save at the start of a recognizable scene, then use separate slots before important choices. This is usually more reliable than saving just as the Wheel appears. See the warehouse choices and save advice for a specific example. Some Wheels also stop the game’s skip mode when they appear.

Why is a character’s Memory Codex entry still locked after I’ve met them?

Of the 42 entries, 36 require you to click a highlighted character, place, event or faction name in the story. Seeing the character or reading the passage alone does not unlock the entry. The other six unlock automatically during specific scenes.

Check that you have reached the relevant scene or branch, then use the Memory Codex & Sprite Viewer Checklist to see whether the entry requires a click or unlocks automatically.
