Full Essence Wheel Choice Index
This page lists the Essence Wheels in the Public 14.6 main story in story order, including locked tutorials, dual Wheels, brief displays and options unavailable in this version. It contains branch and ending spoilers.
“No intervention” means leaving every Essence unselected at an optional Wheel and advancing the text. Locked Wheels cannot be skipped this way: a few stages advance automatically, while the rest require the available action. For longer sequences and save planning, follow the links to Key Choices & Save Strategy.
Early Story: Lust & the Warehouse
First Night After Recovery
Four opportunities follow after returning to the bedroom. See the first night for the full sequence and save advice.
- First locked tutorial: Resnick. Choose Lust on Resnick’s side. Advancing the text cannot skip it. Edwin’s tutorial follows.
- Second locked tutorial: Edwin. Choose Lust on Edwin’s side, then continue to the dual Wheel.
- Locked dual Wheel: Resnick or Edwin. Both sides offer Lust; choose one to decide who leads the interaction. Choosing Edwin also changes a response in a later Tiger Day recollection.
- Final opportunity: optional. Lust gives a more intense ending; no intervention gives a gentler one. Both finish the night. If you later leave both Edwin’s and Ludwig’s day-off invitations alone, this choice determines which day you get.
Warehouse: Two Escape Opportunities
After Gunther and his companions surround Resnick in the abandoned warehouse, two optional opportunities can appear. See the first warehouse fight for the sequence that continues the story and advice on where to save.
- First: cornered against the wall. Targets Resnick; Lust is available. It opens the second opportunity. No intervention leads straight to capture.
- Second: Gunther catches Resnick at the broken window. Also targets Resnick, and only appears after Lust at the first opportunity. Choose Lust again for the normal transformation. No intervention leads to capture.
Warehouse: Normal Transformation
This four-action sequence requires Lust at both escape opportunities. All four Wheels are locked, target Resnick and offer only Lust. Complete each in order to continue the normal main story. Waiting does not produce a no-intervention branch, and one click cannot complete all four.
Warehouse: Two Outcomes After Capture
Leaving either escape opportunity alone leads to capture. A separate optional Wheel appears afterward: no intervention reaches the Story Ending; Lust starts another ending sequence.
That sequence contains five consecutive locked Wheels, each offering only Lust. Complete them in order to reach the Horny Ending. They do not have individual optional branches. Both endings stop at the warehouse and do not return to the main story.
The Watch House & Days Off
Watching Wrestling Practice
Looking into the courtyard from his room, Resnick first watches Garret and Ludwig, then turns his attention to Edwin and Sam.
- First opportunity: Garret / Ludwig. Targets Resnick. Lust has him focus on their practice, then go straight to the baths. Only no intervention continues to the second pair.
- Second opportunity: Edwin / Sam. Also targets Resnick. Lust expands his observations of this pair; no intervention sends him straight to the baths.
Both are optional local variations, but the second appears only if you don’t intervene at the first. Both observation scenes lead to the baths. These choices only affect this scene; you do not need to replay them for later consequences.
Early Bath with Garret
At the Watch House baths, an optional Wheel targets Resnick as Garret talks about a gray wolf he knew when he was younger.
- No intervention: Garret holds back before the conversation is interrupted.
- Lust: Resnick encourages him. Garret’s story and their reactions become more suggestive, but the conversation is interrupted at the same point.
Lust changes a little dialogue at the start of Bear Day’s research scene and in the later officers’ bath, without changing access to either. See the early bath with Garret for save advice.
Edwin’s / Ludwig’s Day-Off Invitations
In the bath conversation after the warehouse incident, Edwin invites Resnick first, then Ludwig. Both opportunities are optional and offer Lust.
- Edwin’s invitation: Lust selects Tiger Day and skips Ludwig’s Wheel. No intervention continues to Ludwig.
- Ludwig’s invitation: Lust selects Bear Day. If you leave this one alone too, the first night’s final choice decides: no intervention that night gives Tiger Day; Lust gives Bear Day.
Both days rejoin the main story. To compare them directly, use the choices in the day-off branches instead of relying on the fallback.
Bear Day & Tiger Day
Bear Day: Researching Alone
Requires Ludwig’s day off. While Ludwig is away from the library, an optional Wheel targets Resnick during his solo research.
- No intervention: Continue researching the Red-eyes and his symptoms.
- Lust: Switch to different reading material. This changes a few recollections later that day and a line in the officers’ bath. Resnick takes the erotic book home; Russel later finds it under the mattress during his visit and teases him.
In either branch, Resnick waits for Ludwig to return. Neither blocks the later interaction at the table.
Bear Day: Five Opportunities After Ludwig Returns
Once they sit at the table, the chain has up to five optional Lust opportunities:
- Resnick: Lust has him move closer and opens the second opportunity. No intervention ends the chain and returns to reading.
- Ludwig: Lust has him respond and opens the third. Without intervention, he withdraws his hand and the chain ends.
- Resnick: Lust starts the later interaction and opens the fourth. No intervention leads to a friendly conclusion.
- Ludwig: Lust makes him more active; no intervention keeps his response restrained. Both continue until someone approaches and the fifth opportunity appears.
- Resnick: Lust continues the riskier interaction; no intervention stops it there. Both then conclude the scene.
Leaving any of the first three opportunities alone ends the chain early. The last two change an interaction already underway. See Bear Day: the library for replay and save advice.
The Prank on Edwin link only appears during the conversation after they return to reading, after leaving at least one of the first three opportunities alone. Lust at all three enters Ludwig’s later interaction. Not intervening at the fourth or fifth does not return to the Prank on Edwin passage. See the Memory Codex & Sprite Viewer Checklist for collecting both branches.
Tiger Day: Choosing the Visitor Earlier
Requires Edwin’s day off. An optional Wheel targets Resnick when he confronts Boris behind the tavern:
- Lust: Continue the confrontation and set Boris as the later visitor.
- No intervention: Talk to Jayden instead; he becomes the visitor.
This choice decides who knocks later. Opening the door and having the visitor join depend on subsequent room choices. See Tiger Day: Boris / Jayden for where to replay from.
Tiger Day: Two Wheels in the Room
In the private room, Resnick and Edwin first get a locked dual Wheel. Both sides offer Lust: choose Resnick for him to lead, or Edwin for Edwin to lead. You must choose one side; there is no no-intervention route. Both lead into the same interaction.
A later optional Lust opportunity targets Resnick:
- No intervention: Keep the interaction at its current intensity. The previously chosen visitor still knocks, but Resnick tells him to leave without opening the door. The visitor’s own Wheel does not appear.
- Lust: Resnick intensifies the interaction, then opens the door when the visitor knocks. This is required to reach the visitor’s Wheel.
The earlier dual Wheel only changes who leads between Resnick and Edwin; it cannot change the visitor. The later Wheel opens the visitor branch.
Tiger Day: The Visitor at the Door
Only appears after choosing Lust to open the door. The earlier choice behind the tavern determines which version you get:
- Boris: Targets Boris. Lust has him accept and join in. Without intervention, he refuses and leaves, returning the scene to Resnick and Edwin.
- Jayden: Targets Jayden. Lust has him accept and join in. Without intervention, he refuses and leaves, also returning to Resnick and Edwin.
Whether the visitor joins also changes a little later dialogue.
The Black Wolf Ambush & Sloth
Black Wolf Ambush
On the shared main story after the day off, an optional Lust opportunity targets Resnick when the black wolf draws his axe and corners him.
- Lust: Resnick gains strength, the confrontation is interrupted, and the story continues toward the Sloth awakening.
- No intervention: Reach the “black wolf ambush ending.” The story ends here.
Both Bear Day and Tiger Day lead to this shared scene. See the black wolf ambush and Sloth awakening for scene cues and save advice.
Sloth Shard Fight: Seven Locked Stages
Continuing from the ambush leads to the Sloth shard ability sequence. Resnick and a Sloth-affected Ludwig are on screen, but all seven Essence Wheels target Resnick.
All seven block story progression until they finish. Three are automatic; four require input:
- Sloth (automatic): Advances on its own; no click needed.
- Sloth (automatic): Advances on its own again.
- Lust (manual): Choose Lust to continue.
- Lust (manual): Choose Lust again.
- Lust (manual): The third manual Lust choice.
- Sloth (automatic): Advances on its own.
- Lust (manual): Choose Lust to finish the sequence.
These locked stages have no no-intervention branch.
The Wheel When Sam Wakes
After the ability sequence, Sam wakes and asks what happened. A Wheel briefly appears, but you cannot use it. Advance the text to dismiss it.
The actual locked action follows: it targets Sam and only offers Sloth. Choose it to put Sam back to sleep and continue to Arrival.
Middle & Later Story
Officers’ Bath: Who Stays
The first opportunity while Resnick bathes with Garret and Commander Brigham is an optional Sloth Wheel.
- No intervention: Garret leaves; Brigham stays with Resnick.
- Sloth: Brigham leaves, sleepy; Garret stays with Resnick.
On Garret’s branch, a later optional Lust Wheel targets Resnick once he is alone in the bath. Lust changes this short passage; no intervention keeps the more restrained version. Both continue to the next day, with no need to replay this choice for later consequences. See the officers’ bath.
Officers’ Bath: Brigham’s Unavailable Option
If you leave the first Wheel alone and Brigham stays, Lust appears later, but the normal Public 14.6 interface cannot perform this intervention. Clicking it only displays a future-update message; it changes no outcome and opens no other scene. Advance the text to finish the existing conversation and reach the next day.
Truth or Dare: Four Turns
During the woodland respite, Edwin, Ludwig, Resnick and Sam each lead a turn, in that order. All four Lust opportunities are optional. Earlier choices do not skip later turns.
- Edwin’s turn; targets Edwin. Without intervention, he asks Ludwig about his physique. Lust changes the question to a bolder experience from Ludwig’s past. Both proceed to Ludwig’s turn.
- Ludwig’s turn; targets Ludwig. Without intervention, he asks Resnick for an action such as a foot massage. With Lust, Ludwig asks Resnick to wear less clothing for the rest of Truth or Dare. Choosing Lust also affects Ludwig’s later massage scene.
- Resnick’s turn; targets Resnick. Without intervention, he gives Sam a lighthearted dare. Lust changes it to an intimate interaction between Sam and Edwin. This gets a brief callback in Edwin’s later river scene.
- Sam’s turn; targets Sam. Without intervention, he asks about Edwin’s money, revealing the Exalted Donations link. You must still click it to unlock the entry. Lust makes him ask about more personal experiences, removing that link.
To get the entry, save before Sam’s turn and let the text continue without selecting an Essence. To compare the main dialogue from all four turns, replay from before Truth or Dare begins.
Edwin at the River
Requires having chosen Edwin’s day off earlier. When they sit close together in the river, the first optional Lust opportunity targets Edwin.
- First, no intervention: Keep the close but restrained cuddling and scratching behind his ears, then finish the riverside evening. The second Wheel does not appear.
- First, Lust: Make the interaction more direct and open a second Edwin opportunity later.
- Second, no intervention: Continue the intimate interaction already underway, with a more restrained conclusion.
- Second, Lust: Intensify it further, then reach the same end of the evening.
The second opportunity requires Lust at the first. Lust during Resnick’s Truth or Dare turn changes a short recollection here, but is not required to reach the river or its first Wheel.
Ludwig’s Massage
Requires having chosen Ludwig’s day off earlier. While Ludwig massages Resnick in the tent, an optional Lust opportunity normally targets Ludwig first.
- First, no intervention: Continue an ordinary massage, move to the feet, then finish. The second Wheel does not appear.
- First, Lust: Make the massage more intimate and open the second opportunity.
- Second, no intervention: Ludwig continues mainly using his hands and finishes the interaction.
- Second, Lust: Ludwig responds more actively, then reaches the same end of the evening.
If you chose Lust during Ludwig’s Truth or Dare turn, the massage goes straight to the first Lust outcome without offering that first Wheel. The second opportunity still appears afterward.
Gunther Rematch After the Market
When Resnick fights Gunther again in the old district, an optional three-way opportunity targets Gunther.
- No intervention: Gunther gradually tires during the ordinary fight.
- Lust: He becomes distracted and restless, with a change in clothing.
- Sloth: He becomes noticeably slow and exhausted, with a different clothing state.
All three continue to the black wolf’s arrival. Gunther’s clothing and some reactions carry over into the next passage. See the Gunther rematch for save advice.
Drinks in Garret’s Office
An initial optional Lust opportunity targets Resnick as Garret opens his shirt. With Lust, Resnick tries to move closer, but Garret firmly refuses before returning to their drinks and conversation. No intervention goes straight to that same conversation.
After Garret mentions a young wolf he used to know, the main optional three-way choice appears:
- No intervention: Garret continues talking about his past, then ends the evening.
- Lust: The conversation turns to attraction and hesitation, but Garret holds back and ends the evening.
- Sloth: Garret grows drowsy and the later sequence becomes available.
After Sloth, a second Wheel appears when Garret again tells Resnick to leave. Only Sloth produces an intervention here: no intervention ends the night; Sloth puts him to sleep and shows the first two images in order. At the final optional Lust opportunity, no intervention gives a different observation passage before leaving, while Lust shows the third image before the scene ends.
To see all three images, use Sloth → Sloth → Lust. For the full no-intervention and first-Lust conversations too, replay from an earlier save. See drinks in Garret’s office.
